Chicago Sinai Congregation Membership

When you join Chicago Sinai Congregation, you are joining one of the oldest Reform congregations - a congregation whose commitment to social justice for 154+ years has made profound changes in the lives of millions of Chicagoans and other Americans.

Today Sinai remains dedicated to our distinctive philosophy and practices of liberal Reform Judaism. Inscribed over the doors of each of our congregation’s buildings are these words: “My House Shall Be A House of Prayer For All People.” This universal, welcoming approach is the foundation of our worship, programs and service to the community.

We are a diverse congregation and currently number more than 850 families, many of them interfaith. Sinai warmly welcomes new members, believing that each new member brings talents, energy and perspectives which enrich us. As a new member, you can opt to be matched with established Sinai members – a Welcome Family – during your first year. The purpose: Get you “up and running” as a part of the congregation’s life.

Please join us for our Shabbat worship service which begins at 6:15 pm on Friday evening. Rabbi Seth M. Limmer, Rabbi Amanda Greene, Rabbi Todd Zinn, and Rebecca Frazin our Director of Engagement and Programming are available before and after services to answer your questions.

We look forward to meeting you and personally welcoming you to Sinai. More questions? Contact our Director of Engagement and Programming, Rebecca Frazin, at the Temple office at 312-867-7000 or by email at

When you are ready to join, apply online or call the Temple office; we’ll send you a membership application and packet.
