Chicago Sinai Preschool

The mission of Sinai’s Preschool is to provide high quality early childhood education to our Sinai community and to the wider Chicago area by incorporating reform Jewish values and traditions within a broader, relationship-based curriculum.

Early Care

Do you need an earlier start to your day, either every day, or a few times a week? We can help. Early Care begins at 8:30 a.m. and is available Monday through Friday. Enroll your child for one to five days a week or take advantage of our as-needed drop-in Early Care.

Preschool

Preschool classes are available for children two-to-four-years old. Class size is limited, and Sinai Preschool maintains a low teacher-child ratio. Families enrolled in preschool classes for the school year are provided a full membership to Chicago Sinai Congregation. Financial aid is available for qualified families.

For children two-to-three-years old, classes meet from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and you can choose from two to five days a week.

For children three-years-old: Will your child be three years old by September 1? If so, this class is available for you from Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

For children four-years-old: Sinai Preschool is a perfect place from Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. -11:45 a.m. You can add Enrichment Classes for an extended education.

Enrichment Classes and Late Care

Sinai Preschool offers quite a bit of flexibility in our extended day program. We offer enrichment classes Tuesday – Friday that end at 12:45 p.m., and if you want (or need) more time, you can extend it until 2:00 p.m. To give you the most flexibility, you can enroll from one to four days a week or, only occasionally, when you need a few extra hours. Please note that children must be 2.5 years old, and toilet trained to stay until 2:00 p.m.

Parent/Caregiver-Tot Programs

Sinai Preschool offers an extensive Parent/Caregiver-Tot program for children from birth to 2.5 years old.

jBaby New Parents Connect

This class is for newborns up to six months and new parents to meet other first-time parents and their children. Share ideas, ask questions and learn from experts in relevant topics such as infant and child development, sleep, changing relationships, food and nutrition, and more.

Music and Movement

These interactive classes for babies with a caregiver from three months to two years old bring music and movement to life! Live music, along with creative and traditional songs and fingerplays are fun, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate for our youngest learners. Classes are approximately 10 weeks and are taught by Sinai’s own Toby Pechner.

If you would like additional information, please contact our Director of Early Childhood Education, Fern Katz.

Together with Tots

Together with Tots hands-on classes are designed for children 12-24 months old to attend with a parent or caregiver to explore and discover the wonderful world of play and learning. Together you will experience art, dramatic play, songs, fingerplays, and much more, all under the expert guidance of an early childhood educator. Our classes encourage relationship development and promote feelings of security and independence. Wear comfortable, washable clothes because we will all be moving and getting messy!

Summer Camp

Each year we have a summer program for all age groups. Look for additional information on our summer programs in January, or please contact our Director of Early Childhood Education, Fern Katz.
