TORAH STUDY SATURDAYS AT 10:00 a.m.

Education Our Torah study class meets most Saturday mornings at 10:00 am. For more information, e-mail Rabbi Moffic at emoffic@chicagosinai.org. We use the Jewish Publication Society translated of the text with the commentary included in The Jewish Study Bible, published by Oxford University Press. No prior experience of Jewish knowledge necessary. For additional resources for studying the weekly Torah portion, the following sites are useful and often thought provoking.

http://urj.org/torah/: A weekly Torah commentary site sponsored by the Union for Reform Judaism. It contains a thoughtful approach to the Torah portion by a different Reform rabbi or educator each week. http://www.jtsa.edu/community/parashah/index.shtml: A timely commentary on the Torah portion from the Jewish Theological Seminary. It often draws from both scholarly critical sources and traditional Jewish midrash. http://www.huc.edu/de/sermon/torah.htm: A list of various Torah commentary websites developed by Rabbi Ken Ehrlich of the Hebrew Union College.
