<-- Back to Our Staff

Scott Kumer joined the Senior Staff of Chicago Sinai Congregation in 1999.  Educated at Wittenberg University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Chicago, Mr. Kumer has extensive experience as an organist/pianist, accompanist, arranger, and choir director.  He co-produced a critically acclaimed CD of organ transcriptions of major symphonic works.  At Sinai, Scott has continued our commitment to the repertoire of the early German Reform composers, while introducing to our worship a broad variety of works by both classical and modern composers.  Under his direction Sinai has sponsored many special musical programs, including several Composer-in-Residence events, deepening our congregation’s appreciation for the richness and variety of Jewish liturgical music.
